Our approach

Governing Idea teaches the method first, then checks your document against it, stage by stage, from the opening to the ending. Each check shows where the structure breaks and why, so you can fix it. It never rewrites your words.

We don't use your writing to train AI models, and our AI provider, Anthropic, is contractually barred from training on it. We don't sell personal data. You keep ownership of what you write.

What your manager sees. If your organization enrolls you, your manager sees your lesson and checkpoint scores, your progress status (including whether you have accepted the terms), when you were last active, and, once you have a band, the Write Your Own document that earned it. Managers never see your drafts in progress or anything you write in the Write workspace. Governing Idea staff can see your work and use it only to run, support and improve the service.

What we keep. Your work is kept until you or your organization ask us to delete it. You can delete your saved drafts at any time. To delete everything, including check results and your account, contact us. If your organization provides your access, we handle deletion requests together with them. Backup copies held by our providers are removed on their own schedules, usually within 30 days.
